When I worked with many billionaires and multimillionaire founders, I have come across one trait that all of them exhibited.
Bias for Action.
Irrespective of where you are as a founder, you’ll see it if you look hard enough. They change their minds daily or whenever new information comes in. Their database is being updated every minute with new information coming in.
Cultural trends shift change daily so they need to be on top of things.
iPhone release kills ads –> what do you do?
Competitor launches location sharing -> How do you respond?
New president of the country -> How does your policy work?
Their ego won’t let them admit they were wrong about an assumption. I have seen them have a lot of difficulty admitting they were wrong. However, they are ALWAYS testing their theories. They know they’ll get some right and some wrong.
They’ll always course-correct, even if they can’t articulate why.
The good news is this is a muscle.
You can work it daily, update it and keep testing ideas and theories. But mostly keep moving.
The bad news is this muscle also atrophies the fastest.
No amount of a/b testing, cohort breakdown, user stories bs will help as much as doing it now, go go go.
If you don’t innately have a need to keep moving forward all the time, work with someone who does. You’ll learn the most important skill to succeed.
