10,000 years.

There’s a scene in Aladdin where the Genie, one of my favourite characters, comes out exclaiming about old age pain and being contained within a bottle.

It is an ode to creativity by Robin Williams and one where he riffed it out so well in the start that they kept it in unplanned. If one is contained for years without exercising the muscle of expression, it tends to fester and die. Till someone forces it out.

That is what happened here today. I have been sitting idle without writing for so many years now and constant attempts to write have taken a toll. And that has given me such a crick in the neck. But I’m massaging my way back and flexing the write (rhymes with right) muscles to let those messages go.

I have observed that keeping a schedule, not telling people your plans and not over editing really helps get things done. You don’t need a new app or a calendar to know a simple rule of creativity. Create stuff daily. I tried a lot of different genres but editing UIUX, editing photos/images and writing really seem to be the trifecta of interest for me. So I’ll work on them. I plan to do a deep dive every Friday on apps and ideas. I’m not telling all my plans yet (see rule no 2 of getting things done) but I hope to be regular and write more.

Or atleast write daily.

Wilkommen to my blog.
