Today is the day after the US elections. A heavy day or a glorious day depending on which side you are on but undeniably a historic day.
A lot of people are going to reflect and ruminate on what happened up to this day.
But a lot of people are afraid of sharing what they are thinking, how their dreams will pan out and what the future will hold. A lot of us are thinking about the future but we keep our thoughts deep within. I would like to encourage you to write and share your thoughts so you and I remember what you felt and what you saw.
Do you remember what you were feeling or doing 10 years ago? My guess is it’s mostly a distant memory. There might be, as the kids call it, a vibe you feel. But a lot of it is in your subconscious. A lot of is lost not just to you, but those that come after you. I say, put up those thoughts because they are directional signs.
In whatever form you choose, take a moment to write on the wet cement of life as you’re living it. Think of the time when you went on a hike or got lost on the road. If you found a note in a logbook or a trail that someone before you left for your benefit, wouldn’t you be happy or enlightened? “Beware there’s no water for 10 miles” or perhaps something like “There’s a lookout point where you can spot deers”.
You’d be often surprised just how many things you know might be new to someone else. I know so much about Steve Jobs and the stories he shared that I revel in sharing them but more importantly transmitting that wisdom to someone that might do great things with it means my thoughts made a difference to their lives.
Tell us your stories. Tell them often. Tell them in whatever form you’d like.
Don’t hold them within.
